Let’s talk a little about its history
Its name is attributed to the city that initially hosted the event, Belgium. As of 2006, it was also celebrated in other countries of the world.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles or Bruxelas World Contest has as its main purpose to help us recognize and differentiate quality wines.
Who makes up the jury
Its jury is made up of more than 300 wine specialists from 50 different countries. Specialized journalists, winemakers, international buyers, researchers and representatives of professional institutions.
How wines are rated
The samples to be tasted are grouped into homogeneous series, created according to the characteristics declared by the producer and by the certificates of analysis.
Each commission is assigned a list of 4 to 6 series that will be tasted in the order defined by the organization, with a maximum of 50 samples each morning.
What are your awards?
The awards granted by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles are Grand Gold Medal, Gold Medal and Silver Medal in each of the categories.
These categories are established by the places of origin and price of the wines registered in the competition.
An important differentiator of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is that after the contest, a selection of award-winning samples is sent to a certified laboratory for a comprehensive analysis. And be tasted by a team of winemakers, with the aim of comparing these samples to the wines that are being marketed.
Being the first international contest that has established a posteriori control of the awarded wines in order to guarantee the legitimacy of their results.
These twenty-five years of experience have allowed the World Bruxele Contest to become a reference in the field of international wine competitions, discovery and tireless search for quality wines throughout the world.
Belgium can be proud to organize this unique meeting in its style, known and recognized by professionals and consumers on the planet.
